Let’s Talk Monochrome Looks, ‘Cause Parineeti Chopra And Nora Fatehi Just Aced The Trend With Their All-White Outfits

When you think of someone decked up in white head-to-toe, either it is the latest fashion trend of monochrome look that flashes before your eyes or it is the iconic look of Jitendra from the movie Tohfa. If you resonated with the latter, it means you are a style noob in need for some lessons on how to do the monochrome look. Although quite versatile, white is specifically a tricky colour to play with, especially when it comes to styling different ensembles to make one sizzling outfit. I mean, a white clothing piece or an accessory can be paired with anything and it will accentuate your whole look.

However, incorporating white in a monochrome look needs some thought and seriously styling skills to ace the perfect look. Well, lucky for us, some Bollywood stars have seemingly mastered the art already. Parineeti Chopra and Nora Fatehi both wore very different white monochrome outfits and both impressed. We are taking notes from them, and their very talented stylists, on how to pull off this very complicated but oh-so stylish look ourselves and look like a sexy siren in white.

Parineeti Chopra wore a three-piece pantsuit, while Nora Fatehi opted for a skirt-suit set (also three-piece) and carried the jacket on her shoulder for the stylish snap. Both looks are immensely different in style and silhouette but feature one common factor, the star element–the colour white. Let’s dissect the looks. Parineeti’s pantsuit is not extraordinary per se, but it’s the trendy monochrome look that’s making it look so chic. She has worn a white bustier, pants, and elongated jacket, all by Massimo Dutti. She even kept her jewellery and accessories complemented with the outfit by wearing tiny white studs and white stilettoes.

While Parineeti’s look is more of a boss lady outfit, having a sophisticated appeal, Nora’s a mix of business and glam. She wore a calf-length pencil skirt and a crop top with a plunging neckline which looked equal parts sexy and sophisticated. She teamed the look with a blazer from Massimo Dutti (could be the same style that Parineeti opted for). To complete the look, she wore white pumps and delicate hoops. She also broke the monotony by carrying a brown bag, which was an interesting way of adding some colour to your all-white look.

The style points to take from these divas on how to wear the single colour–the complex and calm white–without looking like the hero from 1970s Bollywood song, is first, pick the right outfit. An all-white palette works best for workwear outfits. Sure, it looks equally chic for glamorous, vacation or casual outfits too but for these you can play up with different textures, shades of whites and even add a pop of contrasting colour like neon or bright hues to make things interesting.

Keep your jewellery minimal. Earrings and a dainty bracelet are more than enough. You can wear a bold lip, though. And, lastly, pay extra attention to your footwear and bag. These are the style elements you can have fun with, but keep in mind the look and appeal of your overall outfit. White heels are your best bet for your formal monochrome outfit, while sneakers are a classic for casual looks. For parties and glam looks, some interesting patterns and exciting colours swinging in your arms or on your feet won’t hurt.
