These days it literally seems like every damn celebrity couple is either tying the knot or getting pregnant and starting their families. While as fans, we’re insanely happy for our favourite celebrities, it’s hard to keep up with them when they have an ever-growing family. Some of our fave celebs like Nick Cannon, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Alec Baldwin, Elon Musk and others seem obsessed with having babies and it’s beginning to turn into a dangerous trend.
I mean, we know that they can afford to have and raise as many kids as they want but what is the need to have 4-5 kids? How does this even make sense?
Having Babies Has Turned Into A Trend
Being obsessed with reproduction literally seems to be turning into a trend, lately. I mean, I can literally prove it. Nick Cannon is having his 10th baby. He has gotten 5 women pregnant in the last 10 years and he claims that he’s ‘doing this on purpose’ but honestly, I don’t even know how this makes sense. Similarly, the well-known rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again has had 7 children with 6 different women. Even Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are also expecting their 7th baby together this year, they claim that being a parent is the ultimate journey and they wish to keep taking it till they can.
Let’s not forget Elon Musk, he is known to be the father of 10 children, with the last one being born in the last half of 2022. He also confessed that he plans to have as many kids as he can. When asked why he’s having so many kids, he responded saying, “Mars needs people’. I mean, having known the fact that he is indeed working on a Mars project, I can only hope that he’s kidding.
They aren’t the only ones, I mean Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are having their fourth kid, all the while Ryan Reynolds is considered to be an environmental activist, I mean, who’s going to think about the environmental ramifications of mass reproduction? Honestly, let me get the stop sign because it seems like these celebrities really need someone to go there and put it right in front of their faces. I don’t think they realise the massive repercussions of the same even after claiming to be environmentalists and environmental activists.
What Makes This Trend So Dangerous?
We live in a world where everyone is concerned about the increasing population and the decreasing resources but these celebrities don’t seem to be interested. I mean, the global human population will reach 8.0 billion in mid-November 2022. Even in a world like this, these celebrities choose to keep reproducing like they have to repopulate the Earth for the survival of humanity.
I don’t think they realise that each kid that they have is a life consuming so many resources. I mean these families put together can probably sustain a village in Africa. This trend might explain why the USA is suddenly running out of basic resources. Furthermore, with the number of orphaned kids in developed countries, why don’t they choose to adopt and help improve a kid’s life instead as Sunny Leone and Angelina Jolie have done?
This is honestly, very hypocritical of them because, at the end of the day, it’s these celebrities who express their concern about the world’s population rate and its diminishing resources. I mean, if Elon Musk is so concerned about Earth’s population, why does he keep adding to it? To me, it also seems like a lot of these couples just keep having kids to smooth over their marriages and relationships as Kim Kardashian visibly did. I mean, they cannot keep having babies just because they want to find reasons to keep their relationship going.

At the end of the day, it’s especially essential for celebrities to realise the fact that they have a social responsibility because they tend to influence a large part of the population i.e. their fans. If they continue to follow this dangerous trend and reproduce like bunnies who knows how many fans are going to follow in their footsteps, huh? This totally needs to stop here and now.
