Gauahar Khan’s Nikaah And Reception Outfits Were Bridal Goals But We Didn’t Love Both.

Gauahar Khan’s Nikaah And Reception Outfits Were Bridal Goals But We Didn’t Love Both.

Whether you are having an intimate lockdown wedding or a grand event next year, shopping for your bridal outfit that suits your style can be panic-inducing. No matter how many screenshots you have saved and made a mental note of what you want your bridal outfit would look like, you need to plan your wedding outfit way in advance. Since you are yet to finalise your wedding outfit (that’s why you are here, right) we have some major bridal inspiration from the newly wed Gauahar Khan who tied the knot with Zaid Darbar over the weekend and in the process dropped two equally gorgeous bridal looks fit for fashion maximalist and minimalists.

Her pre-wedding outfits were also a heady mix of minimalism and maximalism where she wore pastel floral lehenga for her haldi and a humble gotta patti salwar suit for her mehendi that was given to her by her brother four years ago. However, for her sangeet, she wore an embellished skirt and top set and later a green embroidered sharara for her mehendi celebration. For the wedding ceremony and reception too, she struck a perfect balance with one outfit subtly aesthetic and the other exuding exuberance.

I have always found Gauahar Khan’s style very relatable and relevant for the millennial women. It is ever-so chic, classy and effortlessly stylish. Although her fashion is often high on class and rarely extravagant, seems like she decided to break out of her monotonous colour palettes and minimal designs and went all out for her wedding. Because it’s Gauahar we are talking about, we obviously weren’t disappointed and in fact feel that the two drastically different looks she sported for her nikah and her reception serve the purpose for all the brides, whether it is understated or OTT style they would prefer for their big day.

Here is a low-down on the two considerably different wedding outfits Gauahar Khan wore for her nuptials that are no less than bridal goals for fashion maximalist and minimalists alike. So whether you want your wedding outfit to be sublime and simplistic or create heaps of drama, here are the two looks to save and screenshot.

She said qubool hai in a regal ivory gharara set featuring silver embellishments and embroidery and a heavily adorned dupatta with gotta patti over her head. The outfits was from the label Laam and designed by Pakistani fashion designer Saira Shakira. It had a knee-length kurta with scoop neckline and long sleeves paired with flared gharara pants. This outfit is for every bride who wants to keep things subtle. This gorgeous outfit in a monotone pastel hue with aesthetic work is straight out of every minimalist bride’s dreams. She paired the look with polki and jadau jewellery consisting a maang teeka, jhoomer, neckpiece, earrings that complemented the colour scheme and overall appeal of her bridal look.

For the reception, Gauahar sartorial pick was a no-holds-barred embellished lehenged. She wore a Manish Malhotra number that is simply perfect for the brides who want an impactful and statement-making outfit for their big day. It was a velvet lehenga in gold and deep red tones with glitzy details and intricate work on the blouse and skirt both. She teamed the look with kundan jewellery and an embellished headband, but we’d pass on that one. However, we love the striking off-shoulder blouse that is adding a contemporary edge to the otherwise traditional look. If you want all eyes on you on your wedding, this is an outfit that will sure make heads turn.

So, which one will you be picking for your wedding? If you ask me, my inner minimalist wants her beautiful Nikaah outfit like RN. I won’t mind getting married right away just to be dressed in that gorgeous ivory gharara.
