Freddy Birdy Adds Fuel To The Fire With A Passive-Aggressive Post Towards Deepika Padukone. Can Men Just Keep Unsolicited Opinion To Themselves?

A woman in public eyes is open to horrible and degrading comments and scrutiny. As it is, our society takes pride in controlling how a woman acts or portrays herself. And the most common and effective way of doing this is by passing comments, lewd remarks and sexist jokes at them. Influencer Freddy Birdy did something similar when he commented on the “short” clothes of the female cast of the upcoming Gehraiyaan. Deepika Padukone called him out on his inappropriate and sexist remark which started an internet feud. However, Freddy has clearly not had enough as he posted a passive-aggressive statement addressed to the actor.

Influencer Freddy Birdy has decided to push the feud between him and Deepika Padukone further by posting a very unwarranted Tweet, seemingly due to a lot of Deepika fans coming to the actor’s defence and calling Freddy out on his sexism and disgusting joke. Freddy posted, “Dear Deepika, I’m not “mocking you” for wearing tiny clothes. You can wear your hemlines till your toes or your ears. For all I care. And thank you for calling me a ‘moron’. It’s the only non-fake thing you’ve uttered in your entire career. Love, Fred”

I believe my sense of humour stems from open-mindedness and being receptive. However, I don’t understand “jokes” that are outrightly derogatory or rude just meant to upset someone. Moreover, calling someone who does get upset or offended by an unnecessary personal attack is sensitive or a snowflake.

However, Freddy Birdy has not only picked a feud with Deepika Padukone by commenting on her clothes, something which was so unnecessary and disgusting but is also trying to act as if he is completely in the right and is confident in his words. Maybe keep your account open then? Moreover, what’s the point of making a statement about the Gehraiyaan wardrobe if you didn’t mean to mock them?
