Everyone Stay Calm, There’s A New Falguni Pathak Song Just In Time For Navratri 2022!
The queen of Garba, Falguni Pathak, has given us so many folk songs for the Navratri festive season over the years. I remember when I was a teenager, Falguni Pathak’s songs were my jam, and I am not lying! I have been a fan of her sweet voice, her stylish jackets, and her Navratri songs for as long as I can remember! My Navratri season always begins with listening to her songs and playing her concerts at loud volume. And now, in what comes as a surprise, the queen has dropped another Garba song just in time for this year’s Garba season! The track is titled ‘Vasaldi’ (meaning flute) and it is sung by her and Shail Hada. The music of the song is composed by Hada while the lyrics are penned by Bhojak Ashok Anjham.

The ‘Vasaldi’ song begins with Falguni Pathak making an entrance amid a smoky backdrop and holding a decorated flute in her hand. An old granny recognises her with much excitement and says, “Aa toh aapdi Falguni che“, meaning, “This is our Falguni.” The song begins with very upbeat Navratri-type music as Falguni sings about her devotion to Lord Krishna. The lyrics are all about when a tune from Krishna’s flute is heard, it reverberates in her heart.

The whole song is such a colourful visual treat that it put me right in the mood for the Garba! Plus, the high-tempo music teamed with Falguni’s sureela vocals make this song the perfect track to do some kadak garba steps to! Also, the track is a little different from what she has been producing so far. The Hindi and Gujarati lyrics mash-up have blended brilliantly in the song and not once does this fusion feel weird! Also, Falguni Pathak has dished out another fancy jacket look in the song which is totally recreate-able for this Navrati as well!
