Urvashi Dholakia Reveals She Has Been Typecast As A Vamp, Says She Has To Struggle To Get Work Due To It
Kasauti Zindagi Kay was the most popular daily soap on Indian television. It had a massive fan base. Furthermore, Urvashi Dholakia’s character Komolika Basu became a well-known one from the show. Urvashi was praised for her effortless performance, and she made us all dislike Komolika for her cunning and devious nature. Nobody will ever forget the part. Following this, the actor has mostly appeared in negative roles, the most recent of which was in Naagin 6. The unfortunate part is that now Urvashi Dholakia’s on-screen vamp image became so popular that the actor struggles to find work in positive characters.

In an interview, Urvashi Dholakia revealed her struggles after pulling off the epic role of Komolika, and the problems of playing negative roles for years. Urvashi said that as a result of all this, she has been typecasted into the vamp role. She also said in jest that it’s as if the villain is written all over her face and that is the reason nobody gives her roles. Nonetheless, Urvashi also said that she does not have a problem with it and believes that it is her USP. Elaborating on her thoughts, Urvashi said that someday, someone will definitely see her in a “different light”, as per her interview with News18

The actor also shed some light on what she thinks about how the audience likes her other characters. According to Urvashi, the audience has loved her in other roles like drama or comedy. The actor disagrees with the fact that the audience will not accept a particular actor in new roles or light. Urvashi also said that other roles of hers have gotten her support from the audience. Urvashi went on to accept the fact that people would want to see her in negative roles but will not say that she does not look good in positive roles. Urvashi in the interview also accepted proudly that she is the “biggest badass” in the TV industry.
