Taapsee Pannu Asks A Reporter To Do His Research Before Asking Her Questions About Her Movie ‘Dobaaraa’

Time and again we have seen actors being subjected to random, unresearched, and highly sexist questions from media when at an event. And time and again we have seen actors lashing out at such reporters and then later these actors are called to be ill-mannered. But are they really ill-mannered? I mean, as journalists it is their duty to do their proper research and then make comments or rather ask questions to actors about their movies. However, that is not always the case and so then we see actors go off on reporters. And sometimes their yelling/going off is justified but not always. Just take the recent instance where Taapsee Pannu tries to educate a reporter when he says critics ran a negative campaign against her movie Dobaaraa. Taapsee Pannu further told the reported to do their homework before asking such questions.

Taapsee Pannu recent attended the OTT Play Awards 2022 where a media interaction was held on the red carpet. During that time, a reporter commented on her latest movie, Dobaaraa, saying that a negative campaign was run by critics against the movie. To this, the actress directly pointed out that they need to do their proper homework before asking questions regarding her reaction to these comments.

In a video that went viral on social media, Taapsee Pannu is seen telling the media to not scream and then said that these are the ones who will say actors have bad manners. After this, a reporter asked the Shabaash Mithu actress about the alleged ‘negative campaign’ against her movie Dobaaraa. To this, she replied, “Kis film ke against nahi chalaya gaya (Which film did not face it)?”

When the reporter further tried to question her, Taapsee Pannu further said, “Aap mere baat ka jawab dijiye, main aapke swal ka jawab dungi. Kaunsi film ke saath nahi chalaya gaya? (You answer my question and I’ll answer yours. Tell me which film did not face it?)”

The reporter then went on to claim that a lot of critics ran a negative campaign against her movie Dobaaraa, to this Taapsee Pannu countered, ” Ek baar thoda sa homework kar lena question pooch ne se pehle… Phir yeh log bolte hai actors ko tameez nahi hai, chillao mat. (Please do your homework before asking any questions… Then these people will say actors have no etiquettes, don’t shout.)”

Honestly, I understand the frustration that she might have felt when the questions asked were based on poor research however, her reaction was very direct – exactly the way the media was with her. And I think that’s one way of handling the situation, isn’t it?
