Swara Bhasker Says Decision To Adopt Came After She Gathered All The Information Regarding It

The recent statistics show that over 30,000 children were orphaned due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These children have no shelter and no place to call home. They are the ones who had a family and now are all alone and stranded in these difficult times. So, when I hear that someone is planning to start a family, I always wish that they would keep their minds open about adoption and give it a shot. And when a Bollywood actress like Swara Bhasker said that she was planning to adopt and start a family, I was heart warmed. She is not only giving hope to the child she will adopt but also is paving the way for others to be open about adoption. Talking about her adoption, Swara Bhasker said that her decision to adopt was not an impulsive one, rather she gathered information about all that she had to know before arriving at that decision.

Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker, who recently signed up as a prospective adoptive parent with the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), said that in the last few years she realised that she wanted her own family and that’s when adoption became an option. She said that she has spoken about the decision with not only her parents but also a friend that recently adopted a child. Her decision to adopt was a well-thought-out decision.

Swara Bhasker believes that choosing to adopt a child is a “beautiful” way to start a family. Talking about her decision, she said, “It was only in the last year that I became aware about the orphan crisis in our country. To be able to have a family means to give abandoned and orphaned children a loving home and a healthy chance at a good life.”

As per Hindustan Times, Nil Battey Sannata actress also agrees that adopting a child is not a cakewalk. In fact, the actress spent a lot of time gathering information on how to adopt a child. Swara Bhasker explained, “I’m trying to relearn and learn as I want to be informed and careful. It’s not something I’ve done in a hurried and impulsive manner. I’ve thought about it and stayed with it for a while and assessed it for myself.”

It makes my heart warm just knowing that there are people out there who really want to help with India’s orphan crisis. There are people who are open to adopting a child and are not swayed by the age-old notion of “our own blood”. Honestly, we need more couples, men, and women who want to start a family to consider adoption as an option.
