Exclusive:“ Women Support Women”, Soha Ali Khan’s Outright Reply On Myths About Actresses And Catfights. Hush Hush, No More Rumours Please!

If a movie has two or more actresses, they probably don’t get along well. There is enmity among them, they do not talk to each other on sets, and oh, they throw tantrums. These are some common misconceptions that we often hear about actresses, but as an answer to all these rumours, more actresses are coming together to do movies and series. Like the recently released series, Hush Hush on Amazon Prime. Also, not just this, even in interviews, the actresses are breaking this stereotypical notion with their answers. And to back my stand on this, we have Soha Ali Khan sharing her experiences of her working with an all-female led cast in her latest series Hush Hush.

Hush Hush directed by Tanuja Chandra and released on Amazon Prime features Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Jhulka, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Shahana Goswami, and Karishma Tanna in pivotal roles. So as you can see this one is in all sense a female-led project. And in an exclusive interview with Hauterrfly, Soha Ali Khan talked about her experiences of working with this team. The actress first stated, “A lot of people imagine when they see a show with a lot of women that there must have been a lot of slamming doors, fighting, insecurities, competition and other myths about working together.” Soha made a one-line statement against this and said, “Women support women.” She further shed her thoughts on the on-screen portrayals of women’s relationships, “Traditionally, on camera we have seen how women are women’s worst enemy in saas-babu type TV shows, but it’s time now to show how women can and should support each other more, especially when it is a collaborative project like putting together a series like this one, it does not work unless you are doing that. “

Soha Ali Khan also commented on the times when they shot Hush Hush during the Pandemic and how the cast shared some emotional moments with each other. Soha said, “We definitely vented, I vented a lot, I remember also, it was a tense time, not just in terms of a global Pandemic happening but also things that happened in your lives, so there was a release. And women are good at communicating.”

There have been several occasions where actresses have quite honestly spoken up about this common misconception and it’s high time we pay attention to what they have to say. Nobody can explain a situation better than the ones who are facing it, and actresses have cleared the air about this myth many times now. Let’s stop targeting women on any and everything. It is not necessary that two or more women working together have to have bitter relations between them in any profession.
