Sara Ali Khan Apologises For Her Security Guard Pushing A Paparazzo. When Are People Gonna Understand Boundaries?

I feel like the whole debate around nepotism (which is a can of worms I refuse to open) is part of the reason why people tend to be harsher on star kids as compared to a newcomer. As an introvert and a private person by nature, I cannot even imagine the amount of harassment and invasion of privacy star kids or celebs go through due to the press and paparazzi. Moreover, there is also the factor of them having to live up to their parents’ legacy or be overshadowed by them. I also believe that many automatically dislike them as they expect them to have unnecessary starry airs (I have also held similar perceptions in the past). Now don’t be mistaken, I recognise the privilege these people come from. That they grew up around a lot of wealth and fame. Not to mention that they obviously have an easier time getting movies and consequently being successful in Bollywood. So yeah, I don’t exactly sympathize with them. But I do believe that these preconceived negative notions tend to mar one’s perception of these people when they might not be guilty of half the things they are accused of. One major example of this is a video where Actress Sara Ali Khan was apologizing for her bodyguard as he pushed a paparazzo.

Sara Ali Khan was headed to her car after a press event for her newly released music video of the song ‘Chaka Chak’ from her upcoming movie Atrangi Re where she costars alongside Akshay Kumar and Dhanush. In the video, Sara is a vision in white as she has donned a beautiful traditional outfit with spaghetti straps and a dupatta. She is standing by her car and reprimanding her security guard for pushing a paparazzo. Sara asks, Vo giraya kisko aapne?” and when the people around her say that no one fell down she insists saying, “Nahi nahi, jisko giraya woh chale gaye.” Sara then looks very apologetic and says, “Sorry bolna please. Thank you.” and then continues scolding her guard saying, “Aap nahi kijiye ese. Dhakka mat dijiye, koi baat nahi.”

Now I am not going to sit here and give Sara Ali Khan credit for having basic human decency as most people do with celebs. But, this incident does break the notion of celebs or star kids having too much attitude or being rude. While a lot of them can be that way, there are many that are genuinely humble. And villainising them for making the best of the resources they have is unfair in my opinion, as I believe most of us would do the same if we were born into the privilege that has been blessed with. Also, I think that the guard was also partially at fault here for physically pushing a man away. Lastly, there NEEDS to be some type of rule book to ensure that the paparazzi don’t overstep their boundaries. One might argue that Sara Ali Khan signed up for this when she became an actress but I believe the right to privacy is something so basic that depriving someone of it is borderline criminal.
