Samantha Ruth Prabhu Is All Set To Play A Bisexual Detective In Upcoming Movie
When you talk about the LGBTQ+ community representation in the movies, I feel as though there is not much to talk about. I feel as though the representation of the LGBTQ+ community in the film industry is stereotypical and limited. But I’m also happy that things are changing and the community is being represented in the best way possible and also shown in a positive light. In fact, a lot of mainstream actors and actresses are also choosing to play characters that belong to the queer community without any biases and preconceived notions. One of these actresses is none other than Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The actress is all set to play a bisexual detective in Philip John’s upcoming movie, Arrangements of Love. Exciting, isn’t it?
Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently joined the cast of Arrangements of Love that is going to be directed by the BAFTA-winning director Philip John. Philip John has directed projects like Downton Abbey and The Good Karma Hospital.
Samantha Ruth, who is a part of the feature film Arrangements of Love, is produced by Guru Films. The feature film is based on a bestselling novel of the same name by Timeri N. Murari in 2004.
As per The Indian Express, the feature film will show Samantha Ruth playing the role of a Tamil bisexual detective that runs her own detective agency. Her character is one that comes from an orthodox, conservative family, but she doesn’t want to follow in their footsteps. Ruth’s character is a strong-minded and independent woman who wants to make her own choices.

Talking about her role in Arrangements of Love, Samantha Ruth Prabu said, “A whole new world opens up for me today as I start my journey with Arrangements of Love which has such an endearing and personal story. I am excited to work with Philip John, whose projects I have closely followed for many years, being a big fan of Downton Abbey. I am looking forward to collaborating with Sunitha once again and I hope for only more success than we previously had with Oh! Baby. My role is a complex character and it will be both a challenge and an opportunity for me to play it. I cannot wait to get on set.”

Samantha Ruth further adds, “I wanted to take a risk so that there was growth for the actor that I am. It was a decision that has benefited me tremendously. It has opened up so many new avenues for me. Also, the audiences nowadays are kind of able to separate the character from the actor.”
I don’t know about you guys, but I am honestly looking forward to seeing her on the big screens. I mean, how often do you see a woman actor playing a bisexual character or any other LGBTQ+ character in a mainstream film? My guess is rarely.
