Mrunal Thakur Opened Up About Having Suicidal Thoughts In Her Teenage Years, Says ‘I Would Feel Like Jumping Off’

[Trigger Warning] Many people work hard but that isn’t always reflected in how they are regarded. When the decisions they take for their own good turns out to be wrong, it can lead to frustration and anger. And often, the negative thoughts can become too much to bear, affecting one’s mental health terribly. Recently, Mrunal Thakur who is currently one of the most promising actresses in Bollywood right now opened up about her own struggles and shared a story about her own tryst with such a dark time. She talked about having suicidal thoughts during her teenage years and how she overcame it.

The Dhamaka actress shared her thoughts on how young students from the age of 15 to 20 can face innumerable challenges while figuring out their life and sometimes it can lead to suicidal thoughts in their minds. When asked if she ever had such thoughts in her own life, Mrunal said that while travelling from the train during her college years, the thought of jumping off the train crossed her mind a few times. “I used to travel by local trains. I used to stand at the door and sometimes, I would feel like jumping off,” she said. Talking further about it, the Toofan actress added that her parents wanted her to study dentistry but she convinced them to let her pursue a degree in mass communication. But when the course was not what she had expected, she felt lost and living alone in Mumbai at the time made it even worse for her. She used to think that if she couldn’t achieve anything, she would be married off early. “At that time, I used to think that if I didn’t do this well, I would be nowhere. I thought I would be married off at 23 and have kids, and that is exactly what I did not want. I wanted to do something different and I would give auditions back then. There were many points where I felt like I was good for nothing,” she said. But despite facing so many troubles and self-doubt, she believed in her talent and overcame all the struggles of her life.

Her story definitely sounds like a plotline of a movie. Just like Mrunal Thakur overcame her struggles and suicidal thoughts, we should also try to face the problem in our life and become the hero of the movie of our lives.
