Malala Yousafzai Reviews ‘Ms. Marvel’, She Loves How It Portrays The Lives Of A Pakistani Immigrant Family

You know, I don’t have many opinions but I genuinely believe that this world needs superheroes even in a fictional form. The reason is, that they inspire us to do better things in life and if the superhero looks like us, then it’s truly a dream come true. And looks like the same thing happened with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai. After watching Marvel’s upcoming series Ms. Marvel, she praised the series for its portrayal of a Pakistani immigrant family. See, representation matters!

Recently, Malala Yousafzai shared a hand-written note on her social media account in which she praised Ms. Marvel for its portrayal of a Pakistani immigrant family. In the note, she mentioned that it’s not every day that she sees a character on TV who eats the same foods, listens to the same music, and uses the same Urdu phases as her. Malala added that it’s a joy to see Ms. Marvel reflecting on the lives of a Pakistani immigrant family and introducing a young superhero whose powers are connected to her heritage. She ended the note by thanking Marvel, Disney+, and the first Pakistani-American and Muslim superhero of MCU. This is so sweet!
