Koena Mitra Talks About Being Ostracised From Bollywood For Plastic Surgery, Says She Was ‘Tortured’

I don’t understand people’s sense of entitlement that makes them think that not only do they have the right to people’s private information but also comment and judge them for it. And then there are those that ostracise those they don’t agree with. I feel like this tends to happen a lot with women and moreover people’s perspective of what a woman should or shouldn’t do with their bodies. And along with a lot of things that women choose to do with their bodies, plastic surgery is one of the most villainized procedures for some reason. Celebs like the Kardashians and Ariana Grande have been“accused of going under the knife (like it is some crime). One of them was actress Koena Mitra who opened up about being cast out from Bollywood for admitting that she underwent plastic surgery.

Koena Mitra has opened up and discussed how she was ostracised for going under the knife and admitting to the same. Koena has admitted to being “tortured” by the media. She said that Bollywood does have major groupism and nepotism, but we knew that already, didn’t we? She claims that while she was given a major launchpad but then no one stepped up to defend her publicly.

Koena said that she was naive as she was a newcomer. Because of this she didn’t know any better and admitted to going under the knife. She felt as though the whole world was against her. According to sources, Koena said, “For three consecutive years, I was tortured for my surgery.”

She said that she wanted to laugh when people would personally call her to “support” her. However, while many supported her in private, no one publicly supported her. This created a rift between her and the industry. She then decided to go to the US where she spent 4 years training in dance and taking care of her ailing father. She might be appearing in an OTT platform.

Koena Mitra said that she doesn’t regret the surgery and never will. “My face, my life, whatever I do, what have other people to do with it,” Koena said. PREACH!
