‘Jersey’ Actress Mrunal Thakur Shares She’s Not Scared Of Getting Typecast, Says It’s A Good Challenge

We’ve known the entertainment industry to typecast actors depending on how they look or the kind of roles they’ve played in the past. While we have seen this trend changing over the last few years but we still have a long way to go. But it looks like some of our stars have unlearned their fear of being typecast. Recently, actress Mrunal Thakur opened up and shared that she has not problems with playing similar roles as she does not fear being typecast while adding that she believes that it allows her to bring something ‘fresh to the screen’.

In a conversation with a news portal as quoted by Pinkvilla, Mrunal Thakur shared that for her, script selection is all about how relatable or interesting the role is, the strengths of her character as well as the story that is being told. She shared that she believes that an actor should not fear getting typecast in the entertainment industry. She shared that being cast in films with a good script and good backing should be of ‘utmost importance’. She added that she does not fear being typecast as she knows what she brings to the table and how she can add more to her character to make it stand out.

The actress who will be seen alongside Shahid Kapoor in the upcoming cricket drama Jersey shared that playing a similar character poses a good challenge for her as it allows her to show her calibre as an actor and bring something fresh to the screen. Mrunal Thakur further added that she feels ‘blessed and fortunate’ to get the roles that she is getting while adding that for her, it’s all about giving her 100% and leaving the rest for the viewers.
