6 Reasons We Should Get Indian Moms To Watch Korean Dramas. Chhodo Ye Saas-Bahu Wala Kalesh!

As we all know, the Indian television industry has been serving us the same age-old content for years and it has made the young generation switch to other platforms. However, Indian mothers still have their eyes glued to the idiot box. Now, as an avid k-drama watcher, I can say that Korean dramas are way better than these television serials and Indian mothers should start watching Korean dramas and we have valid reasons as well. After all, our mothers deserve the best, right? As Mother’s Day is just around the corner, we decided to jot down all the reasons why we should get our sweet Indian moms to watch Korean dramas instead of those ghisapitta saasbahu dramas. Let’s get started:

Here Are 5 Reasons Why We Think Indian Mothers Should Skip Television Series And Play Korean Dramas With Us ASAP!

1. We Are Done With The SaasBahu Melodrama!

Okay, I’ll admit that I was also obsessed with this saas-bahu melodrama at one point but I was a kid and I had no option. However, our mothers are still stuck with this unnecessary ka drama, I mean who cares about ki rasode mein kaun tha, yaar?

2. K-Dramas Don’t Last Till Infinity And Beyond

The one thing that I love about k-dramas is that they only have 15-16 episodes, so you can watch multiple k-dramas. On the other hand, Indian serials go on for so long that the plot of the shows stops making any sense, I don’t know how Indian mothers tolerate all those long-running shows!

3. Unrealistic Female Characters Are A ‘BIG NO!’

We agree that there are many television serials that are trying to reinvent the Indian television series, they are serving us the content that we genuinely want to watch. However, the most popular Indian serials are filled with badly-written female characters who are trying to set unachievable standards for women. Well, they are forgetting the fact that women are imperfect and flawed too and need guidance and support from others as well.

4. Realistic Female Characters In K-Dramas Are *Chefs Kiss*

Meanwhile, K-dramas show realistic female characters as they are mainly written by women writers and let me tell you, these characters are totally relatable. They are imperfect human beings with flaws and we totally love them.

5. Not A Damsel In Distress But A Courageous Badass Just Like Our Mothers.

Okay, when I start watching a particular k-drama, I tend to compare the characters with people around me. And I always find these courageous women similar to my mother because she’s anything but a damsel in distress.

6. The Male Characters In K-Drama Are Absolutely Swoon-Worthy.

I know mothers are supposed to be this sacrificial figure but they also need some eye candy, right? And Korean dramas are filled with hot male characters. To be very honest, I watch Korean dramas for the plot and these swoon-worthy K-drama men are just a bonus. These male characters are sweet, caring, and radiate major oppa vibes. I don’t know about other men but these characters are made of boyfriend material, you and your mother can obsess over them for an ungodly amount of time and it’s totally worth it, not gonna lie.
