Emily Ratajkowski Says Robin Thicke Groped Her On The Set Of ‘Blurred Lines’ Music Video

Workplaces are spaces where you spend the major part of your day in. No matter what your profession is, it is a space that is supposed to be comfortable and secure. But that’s not the case for everyone. Women in different professions with different kinds of work cultures have come forth and spoken about being sexually harassed or assaulted at their workplace. We have heard and known enough women who have gone through it to know that this is a very common occurrence. Even celebrities, actors, models, etc. have claimed that they were sexually assaulted in their place of work. Recently, Emily Ratajkowski has come forth and alleged that singer Robin Thicke groped her on the sets of his 2013 ‘Blurred Lines’ music video. 

Emily Ratajkowski is coming out with her book in which she has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Robin Thicke on the Blurred Lines set. She claimed that he groped her without consent when they were filming for the music video back in 2013. She had appeared in the music video of Blurred Lines alongside Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams, and rapper TI.

 

 

Her book, My Body, features the allegations and describes in detail the groping incident that took place on the set. In her book, she wrote how Robin Thicke had returned to the set a bit drunk only to shoot just with her. Emily Ratajkowski further added, “Out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. I instinctively moved away, looking back at Robin Thicke.”

The 30-year-old model remembers feeling humiliation pump through her entire body when that happened. Supporting her claim, the director of the music video, Diane Martel, also said that she remembers the incident well. As per reports, Diane Martel stated, “I remember the moment that he grabbed her breasts. He was standing behind her as they were both in profile.” She also added that Robin Thicke did, later on, apologize to Emily Ratajkowski about the incident.

Since your workspace is where you spend most of your time, it is crucial to feeling safe and protected there. It is so disgusting to be sexually assaulted by the people you are working with and then have to spend time with them after going through it because they are your colleagues. I can’t even imagine what Emily Ratajkowski must have been feeling after Robin Thicke groped her and even after that had to continue work as though it never happened. Honestly, it is sickening to even think about it.
