‘Chup’ Trailer: Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Dulquer Salmaan Search For Serial Killer Who Murders Film Critics. Okay, You Have Our Attention!
Bollywood is currently on a roll and is coming up with back-to-back murder thriller movies. With movies like Cuttputlli, Hit: The First Case, Forensic and Ek Villain Returns, it seems like the makers have a newfound interest in the murder mystery genre. Speaking of murders, mysteries and thrillers, there is a new one around the block which will release this month. The movie is titled Chup and is helmed and written by R Balki. The cast of the film includes Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles and the movie will release in theatres on September 23, 2022. The trailer of Chup was dropped today, and honestly, it looks super intriguing and interesting!
The trailer video which is 1 minute and 58 seconds long starts with Sunny Deol announcing that there is a serial killer on the loose. But the killer’s MO is that they kill movie critics and that, too, by carving the ratings they gave in their reviews on their victims’ foreheads. Needless today, the police always find the bodies in the most horrible of conditions.
The frame then cuts to Shreya and Dulquer romancing and enjoying their freshly blooming love. Coming back to the killer, the ratings they leave on their victims’ foreheads also have a hidden meaning behind them. In the trailer, it can be seen that some of the victims have one star while another has four stars carved on their heads. It can also be seen in the clip that Dulquer and Pooja Bhatt are seen drawing conclusions which appear to be about the case by taking help from popular Bollywood films. Guru Dutt’s Kaagaz Ke Phool is also mentioned in the clip and many bouquets are glimpsed. This could indicate that the killer is taking cues from films.
Chup looks like it will bring about a nice twist in the plain old murder mysteries that have been released off-late. There seems there is a legitimate motive behind why the murderer is well, murdering. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for this one as a good murder mystery is long overdue by Bollywood and hoping this one will break the spell.
