Bajrang Dal Files FIR Against Sai Pallavi For Comparing ‘The Kashmir Files’ And Cow Vigilantism, Issues Threat
In a country as diverse as India, one has to be extremely careful and sensitive when speaking about religion and culture in a public place and more so, if it’s a public figure or a celebrity. People in our country are very connected to their religious identities and every aspect of it. And to say anything that is even remotely offensive can lead to a lot of trouble for people and we’ve seen in so many situations that something very little has led to big issues and that’s exactly why most public figures, especially celebs, avoid making any comments about such sensitive topics on public platforms. But recently actress Sai Pallavi made a comment comparing The Kashmir Files and Islamophobia with cow vigilantism and it seems to have landed her in some major trouble.
Following Sai Pallavi’s recent controversial remarks regarding the lynching of alleged cow smugglers not only created a stir on social media but also ruffled the feather of some political figures and now it looks like an FIR has been filed against the actress. According to media reports, Bajrang Dal has filed a police complaint against the actress at Hyderabad’s Sultan Bazar police station. Bajrangdal Vidyanagar Jilla Samyojak activists submitted a written complaint application to the concerned police station on June 16. Sharing the letter on Twitter, the political organisation said that they have filed a police complaint against the actress and demanded that she apologise to the entire country, especially to the Kashmiri Pandits. In fact, the political party issued an open threat to the actress in their tweet as well.

Sai Pallavi got embroiled in this controversy after an interview with a media organisation during the promotion of her film Virat Parvam opposite Rana Daggubati went viral on YouTube.
“For me violence is wrong form of communication. Mine is a neutral family where they only taught to be a good human being. The oppress, however, should be protected. I don’t know who’s right & who’s wrong. If you are a good human being, you don’t feel one is right.”

In the interview, the actress was heard equating the atrocities faced by the Kashmiri Pandits portrayed in The Kashmir Files to the lynching of alleged cow smugglers in the country. She opined that the if one sees what happened in Kashmir as a religious war then the recent killing of a Muslim man for allegedly smuggling cows by Hindus chanting “Jai Shree Ram” is also along the same lines as there is no distinction between the two while adding that one should no inflict harm upon someone in the name of religion. This comparison led to a social media outcry.
