Bajrang Dal Activists Stop Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor From Entering Mahakal Temple. The Reason Will Leave You Saying ‘Hain?’
It is considered to be auspicious to visit any temple and seek blessings before starting a new venture. This has now also become a trend in Bollywood where celebrities have begun visiting temples before the release of their films. From Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vicky Kaushal to Yami Gautam and Deepika Padukone, have all visited either the Golden Temple or Siddhivinayak Temple before their films hit theatres. Following up on this tradition, Alia Bhat and Ranbir Kapoor recently visited the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh ahead of the release of their film Brahmastra. But the couple was not allowed to enter the temple by Bajrang Dal activists. The reason is a comment made by Ranbir Kapoor loving to eat beef in the past.
As per reports, a commotion was caused when Alia and Ranbir were stopped by the Bajrang Dal activists from entering the temple. The ruckus created by the protestors got so out of hand that the police had to lathi-charge them. Videos of the same have gone viral on social media. Ujjain CSP Om Prakash Mishra said that they were making arrangements to escort ‘VIPs’ into the temple when protestors gathered and caused a commotion. The police have also said that they have taken action against one of the activists under section 353.

In another video that has gone viral, a Bajrang Dal activist is heard saying that Ranbir Kapoor’s past comments on beef have hurt their sentiments. He also went on to say Kapoor also passed derogatory comments on gaumutra. Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji, who also had accompanied both Alia and Ranbir to the temple, was only allowed inside the temple. This was confirmed by the temple priest as well.
