Ashwiny Iyer, Nitesh Tiwari Back ‘Bas Karo Aunty!’, A Young-Adult Comedy You’ll Relate To If Nosy Aunties Annoy You

We all have that one relative in our family who always looks down on you, your career and even often comments on your appearance and clothes. No matter what you do, they always find something to comment on and point out flaws in. Author Varun Agarwal’s book How I Braved Anu Aunty and Co-Founded a Million Dollar Company is exactly the story of the protagonist who goes on to launch his super successful business against the advice of one such aunty who always mocked him for his life choices. Bringing this relatable story to the big screen for of us are Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari.

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari are producing this film which is the adaptation Varun Agarwal’s book by joining hands with RSVP, Star Studios and Roy Kapur Films. It also marks the directorial debut of Abhishek Sinha. This young-adult comedy film is titled Bas Karo Aunty and stars Ishwak Singh, who is known for his performance in projects like Rocket Boys and Pataal Lok, and Mahima Makwana in the lead.

Sharing his thoughts on Bas Karo Aunty!, Siddharth Roy Kapur has said, “Bas Karo Aunty! is a film that has the potential to resonate across the young generation that has embraced the hustle culture worldwide. While most people of this generation are navigating their careers and figuring out their skill set, they’re pitted against powerful odds. The meddlesome Anu Aunty is a personification of those obstacles.”
