Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures Signs Multi-Film Deal With ‘Paranormal Activity’ Producer Steven Schneider
Indian horror films have a reputation for not being as horrifying as they should be rather these films have at times tended to become funny. The Ramsay brothers were the pioneers of the Indian horror genre and with the resources they had, they did a pretty good job. And then producer Ekta Kapoor’s production house Balaji Motion Pictures produced a few horrors movies and now she is ready to take the Indian horror genre to another level. How do you ask? It is going to happen because Balaji Pictures has signed a multi-film deal with Hollywood producer Armaan Zorace’s US label Dark Hell and producer Steven Schneider who is prominently known for bankrolling the popular horror film franchise Paranormal Activity.
Ekta Kapoor Signs A Deal With The Producer Of Paranormal Activity
According to a report by The Times Of India, as per the terms of the deal, a high-concept slate of films will be produced in the horror-thriller in Hindi and other Indian languages, jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Armaan Zorace’s Dark Hell and Steven Schneider. Commenting on this huge deal, Ekta Kapoor has said that their aim at Balaji Motion Pictures is to continue telling ‘genre bending’ stories which the audiences connect with. She is extremely happy with this collaboration and is also certain that this will ‘bring together the best of cross-cultural content to the Indian diaspora.’

Further details of this venture have not yet been revealed but they are expected to serve the south-east Asian audience and even overseas. Producer Steven Schneider has said that deal is a ‘landmark’ for him and his team. He also said that he is looking forward to working with Ekta and Armaan and telling stories that need to be heard.
