Bengaluru Woman Rejected By Company For Being “Too Fair”. What In The Name of Reverse Racism Is This?
It's shocking a company would do this!

We have all heard stories about women getting rejected for jobs because of their deep skin colour. But have you ever come across a woman facing rejection because she was “too fair” to be a part of the team? Well, this recent case will shock you just as it has shocked me. A Bengaluru-based woman took to LinkedIn to share that she was rejected from a company because of her fair skin tone. Her post has sent shockwaves across the platform as people are finding it hard to believe this.

Pratiksha Jichkar, who hails from Bengaluru, is a digital marketing professional along with being a content writer. She shared a screenshot of the mail she received from the company she had applied to. Pratiksha wrote that she was rejected because her skin tone was fair for the team. You can read the screenshot that says the company found her to be the perfect candidate but the only concern was her skin tone.
The company also mentioned in the mail that they are “inclusive” and this is the reason why they are not offering the position to her. Pratiksha has not named the company, and has also scribbled across the name of the sender of this mail.
Twitter is abuzz with this news and there are quite polarising reactions to this bit as well. While some people are shocked that such colourism exists even today, some believe the post shared by Pratiksha Jichkar is fake. People believe this is a publicity stunt Pratiksha has done to market her own brand.

What do you want to convey with this fake stuff. It’s not even funny.

One of the Twitter users said that no company would highlight this even if this was the cause of ejecting the candidate.
Yes, was on LinkedIn, but must be fake! No org ever would highlight this, even if rejected on this basis!

This can't be true
Even if the reality is this, no company would mention this in rejection mail— Prachiti (@PrachitiParkar) July 25, 2023
While there was also a conversation about the company’s double standards.

This is highly unprofessional and unethical at the same time. Given that this woman has not revealed the company’s name, it is hard to find which one it might be. And surely they must have seen her post. So, do better!
