Why Is A 40-Year-Old Woman’s Love For BTS Questioned But A Man’s Obsession With Cricket Is Fine?
These women are just enjoying what makes them happy.

From favourite colour to style, women’s preferences are judged left and right. Now, people have a problem with a 40-year-old woman following a K-pop group, enjoying their music, and feeling good about it. Yes, it’s true. People can’t accept that a 40-year-old woman can love music, go to concerts, and have fun. However, a man can yell and cry over a sports game, and that’s absolutely normal.
Women are expected to act a certain way, and liking K-pop, dancing to songs, or grooving at concerts doesn’t fit that image. People judge her for not “acting her age.” They say she’s too old for fandoms or that it’s embarrassing. But these women are just enjoying what makes them happy. They’re living life and are not hurting anyone.
Double Standards
But, you know what? Men will get a pass and no judgement for similar passions. You see, a 40-year-old man can scream at a cricket game and wear the team’s jersey proudly. For men, it’s normal. But a woman showing the same energy for her favourite group, BTS, faces heavy criticism. How can we not understand or digest that joy and passion have no age limit? Everyone deserves to enjoy what they love without being made fun of. It’s seriously cruel when someone mocks a person over their interests.

BTS IS FOR ALL AGES!! Don’t let anyone shame you for fangirling (or being a fanboy) at any age

Well, it’s very well known that society loves to control how women operate. And, therefore, be it their favourite colour, sport, fangirl era, or more, it gets negatively talked about.
But, ladies, never let anyone dim your light. Do whatever brings you joy. Go to every concert, sing every lyric with your whole heart, and dance like the world is your stage. Let no one stand in the way of your happiness or hide your interests. Live unapologetically, share your Instagram stories and tweet your love for your favourite band. It’s your life; enjoy it to the fullest!
