21 Years Of Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi: 5 Things You’ll Relate If You Watched This Show

When I was younger, I remember I used to watch Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, every night. I mean, it’s a family entertainer but definitely not a kid’s show. But then those were the days of one television set and everyone in the house just watching it together. Now that the show turns 21, I can’t help but feel nostalgic about it. Okay, I will admit, I had a major crush on Gomzi, Tulsi and Mihir’s son. And of course, that made the generation leap even more interesting for me.

Having said that, if these words aren’t ringing a bell, you’re on the wrong post. This one’s solely for people who watched the show and enjoyed the drama. If your childhood was as scarring and drama-laden as mine, you’ll relate to this article.

Here are 5 things you can relate to if you watched Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi with full dedication.

  • You think Baa is secretly female Captain America

Really, I want to know what churan Baa used to have that kept her in such good health for I don’t know how many light years. I mean, touchwood, for the fictional character but seriously, her role lasted ages and why not, she was cute af!

  • Mihir Virani coming back to life was the highlight of your television watching experience

His death in the show caused such a havoc; I have never seen anything like it. People sobbed and protested to bring him back. And oh boy, they did. After this, I never trusted the deaths of any TV character. Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi set the stone for comebacks and how!

  • After dating fuckbois, you realised not everyone can be fixed like Gomzi

Gomzi a.k.a Gautam Virani, son of Tulsi Virani and Mihir Virani became an overnight sensation in the television industry. Many compared him with Hrithik Roshan. His character was developed so well that even if he did bad boy things in the start, you’d not hate him. His broken childhood, his emotional trauma and all that made the fixer in you want to break his walls down and give him love. His mom did, and then he became the cutest-in-love pup with Teesha. And then you met real-life fuckbois and realised they don’t get fixed. Uh-oh! Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi set me up for disappointment.

  • You’ve never seen anyone cry as much as Tulsi did

I want to know how much budget they had for Tulsi’s tears. How did she cry at the drop of a hat and so well? Also, how did she end up parenting so many children? According to Wikipedia, Tulsi was “Gautam, Shoba and Ansh’s mother; Karan’s step-mother; Harsh’s adoptive mother; Krishna Tulsi’s namesake mother; Mayank, Bhoomi and Eklavya’s grandmother.” Wow!

  • The show surprisingly dealt with taboo subjects – and your parents let you watch it too

Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi dealt with subjects like marital rape when Tulsi’s son Ansh assaults his wife Nandini. And Tulsi, protects her by shooting him. The show also dealt with infidelity and affairs in a more sensitive manner, which is often seen as black-and-white by our society. And I am glad my parents let me watch that! Such nostalgia!
