1. Exfoliate Regularly
Dr Neha Sharma recommends exfoliating your lips to remove dry and dead skin cells in case you have flaky lips. You can use a soft toothbrush or a chemical-free lip scrub. But remember that exfoliating too much can irritate your lips and make them dry. The dermatologist recommends doing it once a week and not more.
2. Moisturise Your Lips
Apart from drinking water to keep your lips hydrated, the Dermatologist recommends using a lip balm with SPF. And guess what? We’ve got a list of ingredients that you must look for in your lip care products like castor seed oil, ceramides, dimethicone, hemp seed oil, mineral oil, petroleum jelly, shea butter, zinc oxide, titanium oxide among other things. She suggested to look out for products sans fragrance and flavour.

3. Quit Licking, Biting And Picking Lips
It’s natural for people to lick their lips when they feel dry but it can actually worsen the problem, says Dr Neha Sharma. She says that once saliva evaporates, our lips become even more dry and picking or biting them will irritate your lips further and prevent healing. She recommends carrying a lip balm with you to break the habit of biting or licking lips.
4. Use A Humidifier
As per the dermatologist, increasing the humidity in the air can be beneficial for your lips. Dry climates as well as cold and dry winter air can worsen the condition of dry and sensitive lips. If your lips crack a lot, increasing the moisture in the air in your home or office using a humidifier can help your lips retain moisture and be gentle on your dry lips.
Now, achieving those perfectly glossy lips is not impossible. Just save these simple tips and keep your lips hydrated and healthy.
