The Blackest Eyeshadows To Ace That Smokey Eye!

The Blackest Eyeshadows To Ace That Smokey Eye!

Out of all the eye looks I have ever tried, I have struggled the most with the smokey eyes. And it’s not only that it seems like have no talent, which is probably one of the reasons, but still, it’s because the eyeshadow tends to get everywhere. There’s so much fallout it looks like I have been in a violent altercation with my eye makeup instead of gently filling in the outer corners.

As a person who appreciates makeup done well, I will tell you this. Do a smokey eye before you do the base. Clean up the fall out with a wipe and then apply your concealer and foundation. But even if we know that, sometimes, you simply can’t find a black eyeshadow that’s black enough. Admittedly, when it comes to makeup, there are several shades of black. But on the eye, some tend to look washed out, some kind of black but not entirely and some will simply disappear with a little blending.

So ladies, we went around eyeshadow shopping, swatching and putting various eyeshadows to the test to find the blackest one of them all. Here are our picks.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Black Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow (Rs 2125)

Thick and creamy, this is like applying potent kajal to your entire eyelid. Because of the texture, it’s easy to work with and you can layer it up to get the deepest, most intense black. Plus, because it’s cream-based, you can create sharp lines with this. So much fun to play with!

M.A.C Matte Eye Shadow (Pro Palette Refill Pan) – Carbon (Rs 1000)

We all turn to MAC when it comes to getting the most pigment in an eyeshadow. And this one is no different. Of course, because it is so intense, we recommend tapping the brush before applying the eyeshadow but this one goes on opaque, dark and one swipe is enough for the perfect smokey eye.

Makeup Obsession Eyeshadow – Midnight Black ( Rs 350)

At this price, you know that this is a steal, right? This one is smooth, blends out easily and is great for when you wanted a more smoked out dark eye. Think deep shades but with blurred lines. We love this wallet-friendly option.

Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette – Day To Night (Rs 893)

This is a whole palette and it’s got everything you need to create a smokey eye. The glitter black eyeshadow is great for a night out especially when you are thinking of going full glam. This one is glittery and intense. There is a little fallout but nothing a little cleaning can’t fix.

Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette – Remastered (Rs 4850)

There’s nothing Huda Beauty can’t do right and this cult eyeshadow palette is worth the money. The black eyeshadow in this is so dark, some would say it was designed by the devil himself. This is one of the shadows that you’ll have to use after tapping your brush because it can be pretty dark. Like my humour.

Okay, leaving you with that joke now. What’s your favourite black eyeshadow? Let us know in the comments below.
