#Cannes2017: Sonam Kapoor Shows You How To Do Rose Gold The Right Way!

The last of the big Bollywood bunch, Sonam Kapoor hit the 2017 Cannes Film Festival red carpet yesterday, and although she wasn’t her usual extravagant self, she brought a breath of fresh air along. Wearing a blush Ellie Saab gown, her entire aura had a rose gold glow about it.

Unlike Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she chose to keep things simple and classic — both with her outfit choice and her makeup. Which is unlike Sonam, as she is quite daring with her fashion and makeup choices.

Her go-to makeup artist Namrata Soni kept things subtle yet elegant, and made it all about rose gold — whether it was the way she highlighted her cheeks, shaded her eyes, or even her two-toned lip (scroll down to know what we mean), it had that summer pink shine to it.

If you want to recreate Sonam’s rose gold makeup for your next party, then here’s what you need to do — it’s one that anyone can do with ease!

FACE

If you’re someone who likes to apply makeup, then you know that prepping and priming your skin is absolutely essential. So start by applying a primer all over your face and double up with a foundation of your choice. Taking an illuminating liquid and dab a little bit on your cheekbones in an upward direction, blending it into your skin.

Using a highlighting powder with a pink tone to it (rather than a bronze) and lightly dust it over your cheekbones, especially under it (basically around the apples of your cheeks).

Take a bit of the same illuminating liquid and apply it on the philtrum, i.e. the gap on your upper lip. This will give you a fuller looking pout!

EYES

After priming your eyes, take an eyeshadow palette that has a shimmery tone of pink, peach, or rose — it will work perfectly to achieve this look. Using the lighter pink tone in the palette, apply it onto your upper eye lid, then use a scotch tape on either sides of your eye as a guide. Taking the darker shade, dust it on the corner of your eyes and ease into your crease.

Make sure you blend the colour in really well — the two shades need to create a seamless gradient. Take the lightest that would work as a highlighter and brush it onto the inner corner of your eyes and under your brow bones.

Using a finer brush, take the same shade and lightly line your bottom water liner with it. With a liquid liner, create a very fine line on your upper lid. If you want a more dramatic effect then line your inner lash line with a kajal pencil, prior to the liquid.

Her lashes are pretty elongated in this look, so layer on a mascara that will create a lengthening effect. Draw in your eyebrows a little thicker than usual — but DO NOT make them look like bushy caterpillars.

LIPS

Sonam’s lips have a two-toned effect in this look, which has been created using the new Tint Caresse from the #LifeAtCannes collection. Take the darker hue and shade in the outer part of your lips — use it like a lip pencil, except thicker.

Taking the lighter shade, colour in the rest of your lips, making sure to blend and create a gradual gradient between the two colours. This lip colour is in powder form, so treat it the way you’d treat a powdered eyeshadow and blend, blend, blend!

There you go. Getting Sonam’s first red carpet look from Cannes is THAT easy.
