Shocking! Korean Woman Gets Shoulder Fillers To Recreate Jennie’s 90 Degree Shoulder Look

In a dramatic case of K-pop’s increasing power to dictate beauty trends, a South Korean woman has gone for cosmetic fillers to emulate BLACKPINK’s Jennie, namely, her highly revered shoulder line. Jennie’s 90-degree shoulders have been a signature aspect of her refined fashion sense, and are now being considered by many as a perfect beauty ideal. The trend has caused a frenzy of cosmetic treatments to emulate her shoulder shape, with South Korean clinics now providing non-surgical treatments to get the same silhouette.

Korean Woman Gets Shoulder Fillers

Korean content creator Yunny recently posted a TikTok video of her visit to an aesthetic clinic in Seoul. In the video, she has dermal fillers injected into her shoulder area directly to create the angle and definition. The result, which seemed instantaneous, raised her shoulders visibly to a more angular position. She responded with delight, clearly delighted with the result.

This treatment is one of an emerging trend for cosmetic enhancements in which classic face adjustments such as jawline reduction or glass skin are being complemented by body sculpting treatments. Shoulder fillers have been increasingly popular in Korea since 2021 among enthusiasts who are trying to replicate their idols’, Jennie’s shoulder line being a repeatedly named benchmark. Not everyone, however, is impressed. Online reactions have been mixed.

However, Yunny was also lauded by fans who viewed the treatment as a personal decision and a form of self-expression. Why sweat when you can inject? went one pro-defending comment.

In addition to fillers, another trend is Trap Botox, relaxing trapezius muscles to produce a longer and more angular neck and shoulder line, all in the quest for the Jennie effect.
