Bold Lips Did All The Talking At Sanjay Garg’s AIFW Show
The Spring-Summer 2016 edition of Amazon India Fashion Week began yesterday, with Sanjay Garg of Raw Mango kicking off the 5-day event. While the collection was expectedly fabulous in its simplicity, the clothes weren’t the only thing worth talking about. Maybelline India and make-up artist Elton J Fernandez gave us a modern, beautiful look that we LOVED and wanted to try out almost immediately. Clean, luminous skin was offset beautifully by bold, red lips and sleek, fishtail braids.
Bold Lips
The beauty heroes of this show were gorgeous red lips. Perfect puckers took centerstage with a deep, rusty hue that complemented the contemporary Indian vibe of the clothes. I like how the colour has been applied with precision but softened at the edges to prevent them from looking too fierce.
Luminous Skin
Dewy, lit-from-within skin will continue to rule the roost for SS16, and honestly, I’m not complaining. Give me healthy, natural-looking skin over caked-and-baked layers of foundation any day. This is the kind of beauty look that inspires serious #skingoals. There’s barely any contouring, and strobing has been done with a light hand. Foundation has been used only where needed to let natural skin shine through.
Understated Eyes
The models’ eyes were given a wash of pearly, iridescent eyeshadow along with a coat or two of mascara and neatly groomed brows. The message is clear: no drama here. Just calm simplicity.
Glossy Hair
Insanely shiny, side-parted hair was tied at the nape and followed through with a tight fishtail braid. Once again, a simple yet stunning look to complement the beautiful clothing.
