5 Ways To Incorporate Rice Water Into Your Beauty Routine

There are a lot of things that I love about the Japanese. Their history, art, literature, food etc. But one of the things that I really wish I could learn from them is their impeccable beauty routines. Most Japanese women seem to be ageing backwards and we all would like to know how?! And one of their ancient natural beauty ingredients is rice water. Since the early Japanese dynasties, rice water has been employed in beauty routines. Even today, this ingredient is found in products including cleansers, toners, mists, rinses, and lotions for both skin and hair because of its well-known ability to beautify both. According to some, it can help with a variety of things, including balancing pH levels, calming inflammation, moisturising skin and hair, adding shine to your mane, and much more. So how do you incorporate this miracle ingredient into your beauty regimen? There are a few ways you can do so and here are a few ways how:

1. As A Toner

Use rice water as a toner for cleaning. Use a cotton ball to apply some rice water to your skin. You can also mix it with rose water or green tea according to your skin’s requirements.

2. In A Scrub

Make a scrub that contains rice water. You can mix rice water with granulated sugar/salt, essential oil and moisturising oil. Use this to exfoliate the skin on your body. Before using this formula, sensitive skin should undergo a patch test.

3. Use Products With Rice Water As An Ingredient

Since rice water has gained a lot of popularity in the beauty industry, there are a lot of products that add it as an ingredient. Multiple hair care and skin care products have used its goodness to it more accessible to everyone. One of these products is ‘Plum 10% Niacinamide Face Serum With Rice Water For Clear & Bright Skin’. The serum has a thin, creamy consistency that makes it easy to apply to the skin and very moisturising too.

4. As A Hair Rinse

By adding six drops of your essential oil to a cup of the rice water solution, you may make a conditioning hair rinse. Pour this on your scalp and coat your lengths after shampooing. After massaging your scalp, allow this to sit for approximately five minutes. Use water to rinse. If desired, condition your hair following this.

You can use rice water as a leave-in hair conditioner too. Completely saturate your hair and scalp with the rice water, and then gently massage it into your scalp. After that, let it air dry naturally.
