Reviewed: LuxaDerme Skin Brightening Bio-Cellulose Face Mask

I am principally against fairness products — I like my dark chocolate skin tone, thank you. Having said that, I do like keeping my skin clean, blemish-free and, ideally, glowing. Thankfully, I have fairly problem-free skin (thank you, Mommy!), but I do get the occasional breakout and sun burns. I have a *really* simple skincare regime — I don’t moisturise my face because I have oily skin and was advised against it by a dermat. I cleanse and tone, and religiously use a sunscreen-cum-CC cream every morning before stepping out of the house. But every now and then, I enjoy experimenting with face masks — I love how my face feels as soft as a baby’s bottom after using them.

But when I got the LuxaDerme Skin Brightening Bio-Cellulose Face Mask, I was a bit skeptical — ‘brightening’ to me is a euphemism for ‘fairness’. But on my team’s encouragement, I decided to give it a shot. And I’m glad I did.

LuxaDerme Skin Brightening Bio-Cellulose Face Mask

The face mask, like a few others I’ve tried, comes in a thin serum-soaked film of fermented coconut jelly that smells pretty yummy — so control those hunger pangs! Sandwiched between two light sheets, the mask needs to be carefully removed and apply evenly on the face. You need to press down on it a bit so that all your skin is covered and the ingredients are evenly spread out. Give 30 (chill, take a nap…you get my drift), and then take off the mask. Remember, do not wash it off — simply massage in the remaining serum into your skin in circular motions. That’s it, you’re done!

And I gotta admit, my skin felt hella better after this process was done. My face was smooth and soft to touch and I definitely spotted a ‘glow’. It did not brighten, per se, but I think it did the trick.

All the ingredients in the Luxaderme Skin Brightening Bio-Cellulose Face Mask are natural — the Vitamin B3 helps improve skin elasticity and smoothens out your skin tone; Arbutin, which is derived from berries and certain mushrooms, helps brighten your skin by arresting the synthesis of melanin, a potential causer of dark patches; Vitamin C is an antioxidant that cleanses your skin and Hyaluronic Acid moisturises it and retains said moisture.

The packaging of the product comes in durable yet light, travel-friendly foil packets, so you can even carry them with you for important events or holidays.

So if you’re looking for a quick-fix face mask, where you can literally see the change in your skin texture in half an hour, pick up the Luxaderme Skin Brightening Bio-Cellulose Face Mask — totally worth it.
