From Eyelash Extensions To Supplements; Reddit Lists 8 Beauty Services, Products Not Worth The Expense

Well, I am not a beauty girl but that does not stop me from accumulating all the updates about the beauty world. While I wonder if most of it makes sense, I stumbled upon a Reddit thread where women discussed some beauty services and products not worth the time or expense. Ah, others think like me, that’s quite a relief! Many Reddit women listed treatments like eyelash extensions and filler as services that the world can let go of. Read on to learn more about it from the consumers themselves.

1. Eyelash Extensions

As mentioned earlier, this thread was all about de-influencing. And on top of it was one of the most well-known beauty services- eyelash extension. A Reddit user firmly stated that extensions look funny and people will laugh at it 10 years from now when the trend has died down. Well, I second that. We already have many mascaras for that extra lift and volume, then what’s the need for an extension?

2. Long Acrylic Nails

Well, looks like someone struggled after getting one. This user took a dig at the whole ongoing trend of acrylic nails and wrote that they have no idea how to function with it throughout the day. We think alike!

3. Jade Face Rollers!

Now, that’s a controversial one! Even though I haven’t used a jade face roller, I know it’s quite a popular product among the beauty gworls! Maybe that’s why the Reddit user who listed this product did not back it up with a reason. Anyway, I wonder if this expensive product works any better than all the face massage routines available online!

4. Serums And Toners!

Another user who made me feel seen! This user pointed out that she doesn’t understand the relevance of serums, toners, day and night creams etc. The woman expressed how she feels overwhelmed with the whole skincare routine and that she is simply a moisturising girlie and of course sunscreen!  Can this get more real?

5. Filler And Botox

Many Reddit users in this thread unanimously agreed that face and lip fillers and excessive Botox will also end up looking bad 20 years from now. Well, it’s a choice that women make, and that should be respected!

6. Supplements

Many women also dismissed the need for beauty supplements in everyday life. They also explained how supplements add nothing to the body if everything is normal.

7. Skin Tightening Creams

It’s quite interesting to think how two polarising conversations are happening in today’s time. When on one hand, people are promoting natural ageing, there also exists products like skin tightening creams. Weird right? This Reddit thread highlighted how these skin-tightening creams don’t work, and rather do more harm than good.

8. Trendy SPF Products

While sunscreen is the most important part of your skincare routine, that doesn’t imply you need to buy all the trending SPFs available in the market. This was also highlighted by one of the users who wrote that these products are only consumed because of their packaging. Where’s the lie?
