7 Metallic Looks We’re Crushing On From Paris Haute Couture Week 2017
When it comes to beauty, the fashion world, especially during haute couture week, is always so EXTRA! But who’s complaining?
We love it when the world’s best makeup artists come together with the world’s best couturiers. One of the major beauty trends spotted at this year’s haute couture week was metallics.
1. John Galiano For Maison Margiela
Is it just me or does that remind you of the American flag? Glitter hair aside, look at those 3D, holographic, metallic lips! It’s nothing like anything we’ve ever seen before and you can always expect that from Pat McGrath!
2. More From John Galiano For Maison Margiela
Maison Margiela is known as one of Paris’s most iconoclastic fashion houses, and so only these beauty looks can do justice. Look at the metallic covered hair on this model, right before the show. It stands out beautifully against the architecture of the clothing.
3. Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture show used metallics in all ways, shapes, and forms. Look at the serrated accents placed above the crease of the model’s eyes. That’s where art meets makeup!
4. JPG Again!
And look at that hair! Gold shines through the hair parting like a headpiece almost, but not really. We love this use of gold by hairstylist Odile Gilbert.
5. Oh But Wait, There’s More…
The JPG show really went all the way there and it sure was LIT! No, like literally. Models cried tears of molten gold. Is this a case of Instagram inspires runway? I think so!
6. Ellie Saab
These gilded lids and the metallic accessories are giving us some major Game Of Thrones vibes and you know what’s out next week, right? Lord knows how I’ve waited for this season!
But back to fashion, this metallic look is a little more wearable for regular folk like you and me. Unless, of course, you want to rock metallic hair parts, in which case I say, go for it!
7. Peter Dundas
These dark but coloured smokey eyes give a seductive look to the entire show. Speaking of wearable trends, here’s another one. Highlight your smokey eye with foiled or metallic accents, like the models have on for the Peter Dundas show.
