The Hottest Nail Trends Fresh Off The Paris Fashion Week Runways

PFW Nail Art_Featured_Hauterfly

When we’re counting down major beauty moments on the red carpet or trends down the runway, we often don’t pay close enough to attention to minute details…like nails!

The right manicure can pull an entire look together, and pro nail artists and manicurists, like Marian Newman, run the backstage beauty scene at fashion weeks.

Nails seen on the runway set trends for a whole year to come. And from the recent Paris Fashion Week Autumn-WinterW 17/18, we can tell 2 things — chrome nails aren’t going anywhere, in fact, they’re evolving; and OTT or super minimal are the 2 biggest trends spotted.

1. Rainbow Chrome

I’ve decided to call these the rainbow chrome nails. These were the manicures that models sported down the Manish Arora runway. Plus, look at that hand decoration!

That holographic effect is like nail porn.

Some of the nails for this show came with some nail jewellery.

2. Razor Sharp Talons

The Vivienne Westwood models also flaunted some OTT nail art looks, proving that those pointy nails ain’t going nowhere.

That’s Vivienne herself, who rocked the runway with pointy nails and bold makeup of her own.

Yikes, looks like you could kill someone with those talons. The perfect look, if you want to feel like a villainous vixen.

But, now let’s turn to part 2 of our nail trend list. Leaving these crazy nails aside, PFW presented a sort of dichotomy, with other shows flaunting the exact opposite of the manicures above — minimalism.

3. The Clean Nails

The Mugler show was classic and so were the manicures. Good, clean, simple nails never go out of fashion.

To achieve the no-nail polish look, Marian’s team used sheer polishes with fleshy, natural pink and nude tones.

4. Glossy Nails

Shows like Lanvin and Maison Margiela presented a variation of the same, clean cut nails.

They added a little hint of gloss top coats to complete the look.
