L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Indian Hairdressing Awards 2021 Winners Have Been Announced. Check Out The Winning French Balayage Looks

‘Tis is the year of French Balayage! Okay, hold on, let me explain this. Experts from L’Oréal Professionnel Paris have declared French Balayage as the trend of the year for 2022. For the uninitiated, French Balayage is a freehand hair colouring technique developed by the experts at L’Oréal Professionnel Paris. It uses a 2-step technique to create a customised and unique hair colour to suit the lady sitting in the salon chair which means that no two looks are the same. In the 4th edition of the Indian Hairdressing Awards held by the brand, French Balayage was the central theme. The awards night was held on 23rd March in a unique hybrid model (on-ground and digital) which meant that for the first time, anyone could log in to watch the action live.

As a brand, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris has time and again encouraged, supported, and promoted talent in the Indian beauty and hairdressing industry. More importantly, this brand has given hairdressers across the country a platform to showcase their talent with the Indian Hairdressing Awards (IHA). The IHA is divided into two main categories namely – the Business Awards and the Creative Awards. The Business Awards have three sub-categories – The Best Digital Marketing Award, The Best Social Commerce Salon Award and The Young Entrepreneur Award. The Creative Awards have three sub-categories – The Style & Colour Trophy, The Young Colourist Award, and The People’s Choice Award.

During the competition for IHA 2021, the hairdressers were expected to create a French Balayage look best suited for the model provided to them after a real time consultation with her. Well, that’s just what a true test of a French Balayage expert looks like. The contestants then had to use the 2-step technique to create a seamless, blended, and natural looking French Balayage look. The competition was judged by a panel of 5 esteemed jury members and experts from the industry, namely, ace photographer Jatin Kampani, creative make-up and hair design expert Venus Ferriera, celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim, founder and director of Elle Hair Studio Group Simon Koh and ace hairstylist and director of Dubai’s Pastels salons Natalie Kasses.
