Did Your Lohri Celebrations Leave Your Hair, Skin Feeling Dusty? Here’s How You Can Get Back Your Glow!

Lohri is here, and I couldn’t be more excited! The bonfire, the endless plates of rewri and popcorn, dancing to dhol beats, and dressing up in traditional outfits it’s such a vibe. But as fun as the celebrations are, they can leave your skin and hair feeling anything but festive. Let’s be honest, standing near a roaring bonfire for hours can mean dealing with smoke, ash, and dust settling into your hair and skin. Been there, done that, and let me tell you it’s not pretty!

How To Get The Glow Back Post-Lohri Celebration?

The good news? With a little post-Lohri pampering, you can bring your skin and hair back to life. Here’s how you can banish all that dust and pollution so you can glow again. First things first, your hair probably took the biggest hit. All that smoke and dust can cling to your strands, making them dry and dull. Start by brushing your hair thoroughly to remove loose particles. Then, follow it up with a clarifying shampoo to get rid of the buildup. If you don’t have one, mix a teaspoon of baking soda with your regular shampoo for a quick DIY fix.
Once your scalp and hair are squeaky clean, treat yourself to a nourishing hair mask. Look for one with ingredients like argan oil, aloe vera, or shea butter to restore moisture. If you’re into DIYs, mash up half a banana with a tablespoon of honey and apply it to your hair for 20 minutes, it works like magic!

Double-Cleanse Your Skin

Your skin’s probably crying for help after being exposed to all that bonfire smoke. Start with a good double cleanse. Use a cleansing oil or micellar water to remove the layer of dirt, makeup, and grime, and then follow up with a gentle face wash to clean your pores thoroughly.
Once your skin is clean, exfoliate gently to get rid of any stubborn dust or ash. Use a mild scrub or make one at home with yogurt and oats. Scrub for a minute or two, but don’t overdo it you don’t want to irritate your skin.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Now that your skin is clean, it’s time to bring back the moisture. Apply a hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid or vitamin E to soothe your skin. Don’t forget a good moisturizer, and if you’ve been feeling extra dry, use a sleeping mask overnight for a hydration boost. To calm your skin after all the heat exposure, treat yourself to a cooling face pack. Aloe vera gel mixed with rose water works wonders to reduce redness and irritation. You can also use a cucumber and honey pack for a refreshing glow.

Lastly, don’t forget to hydrate from the inside. All the dancing and the food might’ve left you dehydrated, so make sure to drink plenty of water, coconut water, or even green tea to flush out toxins.
