First off, I’m a dry skin girl which means winter months spell desert dry disaster for me. My typical morning entails moisturiser, sunscreen, and concealer for Panda eyes, which are caused by sleepless nights (surprise, surprise). I decided to try the Akind skin tint which is (obviously) approved by Mira Rajput Kapoor. Infused with hyaluronic acid for hydration along with SPF 30 PA +++, this is the multi-purpose product that probably every lazy girl like me is eyeing. Plus, who doesn’t love multi-purpose products? But is it really worth the hype? Well, here’s the answer you’re seeking.
Trying Out The Akind Skin Tint
Now, the god-honest truth about Akind skin tint – I absolutely love the coverage. As far as skin tints go, this one is high coverage and I like the way it matches my tone perfectly. Even though my skin tone is light, most foreign brands leave behind a white cast if I opt for ivory shades. On the other hand, Akind skin tint in the shade 110 ivory looked light when I squeezed out some product on my fingers but once I started blending there was no going back. Personally, I like looking glossy so I apply a moisturiser before applying the tint but you might want to avoid doing that if you want a matte look. During the initial application, the product feels slightly sticky but once you blend, it settles in perfectly. For me, this product doubled up as concealer as well because I don’t use one to cover dark circles. Instead, I opt for one to slightly brighten my under-eye area.
This Mira Kapoor-approved tint has a nice sheen and gets a little oily after wearing it for about 6 hours. To me, that’s just what I want but the oily girls might want to tread carefully. I’m all for skipping sunscreen when I’m wearing this tint but if you’re stepping out in the sun for work (winter or not), I would not recommend skipping your SPF 50 sunscreen. As a light-skinned desi girl, I’m satisfied with the range of shades of the tint available in the brand but sadly, this celeb-owned Indian brand will disappoint all the brown girls due to the lack of deeper, darker shades. One would expect more shades of skin tint meant for the Indian skin tone from an Indian brand especially because for that price point, it’s a no-brainer that this product is perfect for daily wear. Here’s to hoping the range of shades expands (the sooner, the better). We hope you’re listening, Mira.

Verdict: Khareed Liya Jaye Ya Chod Diya Jaye?
Overall, am I mindblown? Not really. Does it do what it promises? A 100%. Good coverage, no strong smell and is long-lasting. If you want an update on how this product works eight hours after application – if you sweat, it will melt and you see it melt around the mouth and nose. However, for that price, it is a great product for everyday office wear because it does look great. NGL but I believe a little experimentation with this tint on bare skin vs moisturised skin might take care of the melting issue and it helps us skin two steps!
