Ocean hair is the latest trend to be making waves on Instagram and over 12,000 people are riding it! As it was with geode hair and marble hair, this is another breathtakingly stunning trend that we can’t wait to try.

While it looks great on Instagram, it may be difficult to maintain in real life, unless you have the right products.

Brittany Holland, colour specialist from California, and @cozmic.color on Instagram, was one of the first people to create this trend. She started by bleaching her client’s hair for a blank canvas. Makes sense, right?

Then, rather than creating a flat out blue, she played around with colours! She mixed multiple shades to mimic ocean-like hues.

Then she applied those 4 custom-made colours to her client’s hair, playing with light and depth.

Feeling ’em mermaid vibes? ‘Cause I most definitely am. Unfortunately, I just spent a bomb on colouring my hair, so this will have to wait for another time.
