How To Get The Celeb-Favourite Shimmer Eyeshadow Look In 3 Steps!

Judging by the launch of Kim Kardashian’s metallic shimmer pigments, Pat McGrath’s Unlimited edition makeup, Urban Decay’s new eyeshadows, and multiple 2018 celebrity red carpets: shimmer-metallic eyeshadows are back with a bang! Or, maybe they never left? Either way, we are seeing shimmer, metal, and foil on a bunch of celebrities. Here’s who.

Kim K, of course, wearing her copper and rose gold pigments (ultralight beam) and lip gloss in the same colour, on her eyes and lips.

Sarah Hyland attends the Golden Globes viewing party in purple, metallic-shimmer shadow. Looks like she’s slaying two trends in one look, by wearing the Pantone 2018 colour.

Kate Bosworth also rocks a subtle, bronze shimmer eye look.

And then we have Viola Davis, wearing copper eyeshadow to the Golden Globe Awards 2018.

Lastly, we have this stunning Sonam Kapoor look from the Filmfare Style & Glamour awards. Now, the question is, how do we create a shimmer-metallic eye look in just 3 steps?

The Face Shop Triple Eye Shadow – 01 Orange Nuance (Rs 850)

Step 1

Add a shadow around your crease. Take an orange, pink, taupe, or any semi-neutral shade that compliments your metallic colour, and use a blending brush to apply it to the outer corner of your eye, as well as right above your crease. Go as heavy or light with this as you please, but make sure the blending is seamless and there are no harsh lines.

#HauteHack: The look will stand out far more if you prep with an eye primer or concealer on your lids.

NYX Professional Makeup Cosmic Metals Eyeshadow Palette (Rs 1050)

Step 2

Choose a metallic pigment and use your finger to apply it all over your eyelids. Don’t go above the shadow in your crease. Use a small, tapered brush to apply this shade under your lower lash line.

#HauteHack: You can even dab on some shimmer or metallic gloss on top of this, like Kim K, to intensify the look.

Choose another metallic-shimmer pigment, preferably a loose pigment, in a shade that’s similar to your first metallic shadow, and dab that on top of your lids. Concentrate this on the centre of your lids.

#HauteHack: Finish these looks with either liner or kohl, whichever you prefer. And don’t forget to add mascara to your upper and lower lashes.
