5 Fall 2016 Makeup Trends You Can Steal Straight Off The Runway!
Every Fall brings with it cold (or colder, depending on where you live) weather, Pumpkin Spice everything, the festive season, and winter… just around the corner. Personally, aside from adding more grey to my already neutral wardrobe, I look forward to the spellbinding beauty looks that the darker season brings with it. Each year means a nuanced innovation to something old, a retro addition, or a new trend that completely blows my mind and has me buying a bunch of products, followed by practicing the looks in front of the mirror. If you’ve got the kind of love for beauty that I do, then look no further. Welcome to this year’s countdown of 5 of the biggest Fall/Winter beauty trends.
1. A Fluorescent Pop Of ColourRara Avis
We saw it at shows like Rara Avis & Tulsi Collection at the recent Lakmé Fashion Week. Whether it’s a pop of unblended eyeshadow or a neon lip, we’re looking forward to bringing some colour back into the gloomier season!
Oh, and, a major shout out to the crazy colours the models for Jeremy Scott sported on the F/W’16-17 international runways.
2. Artistic LinerShantanu & Nikhil
Now, you may think you’ve seen this one before, but think again. Bloggers are doing it, models are wearing it, and celebrities love it too. This trend is here to stay. From the west all the way home, my favourite part of this look is the numerous adaptations we can play with.
3. Gloss & Glow
It’s not just Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy hormones that have her glowing. Gloss and glow was all the rage on the Fall/Winter runways this year. The look is flattering for literally everyone!
4. High Gloss, Dark Lips
Dior did it, and multiple designers followed suit at Lakmé Fashion Week and at fashion shows worldwide. Think marsala dark lips, drenched in high-shine glosses — that’s exactly what you’ll want to opt for this Fall.
5. Blue Eyeshadow
Here’s another all-time favourite on the list. We saw it on the Jill Stuart runway at New York Fashion Week and again during the Kanelle by Kanika Jain show, back home. There will never be enough ways to don the blue eyeshadow — always an electrifying look!
