Skincare Expert Shares Beauty Tips To Get Rid Of Hyperpigmentation And We’re Here For It!
Expert advices to use SPF daily into the skincare routine to prevent and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation!

Indian women are blessed with gorgeous melanin-rich skin which means sometimes we have to deal with hyperpigmentation as well. Hyperpigmentation is something every Indian girl in some way and form has dealt with whether be it after pregnancy or just because of hormonal changes. It becomes tiresome for people who follow a busy schedule to follow an elaborate skincare routine for hyperpigmentation. But that does not mean we don’t take care of our skin. So to help our fellow girls, Hauterrfly reached out to The Ordinary skincare expert Mr. Joseph Basham to share a few of his expert tips and tricks to manage hyperpigmentation.
Expert Tips On How To Deal With Hyperpigmentation
While speaking to Dr. Joseph Basham we put our most pressing concerns forward as to how to manage hyperpigmentation with some easy-to-follow skincare tips. He firmly believes that SPF must and needs to be the foundation of the skincare regimen if hyperpigmentation is the issue. He further elaborated on the benefits of including SPF stating that it will prevent as well as reduce the onset of hyperpigmentation. For people who want to prevent hyperpigmentation starting with SPF is a good option. But what about people who are already dealing with it? To this, Dr. Joseph advised to look for products which have a higher percentage of Vitamin C.
He further advised if a person is new to using high concentrations of Vitamin C, the first user may experience some form of tingling. Instead, they can also opt for serums that contain the ingredient Ascorbyl as it is easier to integrate with other skincare products. Dr. Joseph also warned to be careful when using Niacinamide with these products as they can cause an irritating reaction.
More Skincare Tips To Follow
While SPF is very important when it comes to hyperpigmentation, applying it at small intervals is as crucial. SPFs are generally heavy on the skin, so one needs to make sure that it is properly cleansed at the end of the day by following a double cleanse method, otherwise it can result in clogged pores and closed comedones.
