1. Is This Treatment Suitable For My Skin Type?

Dr Vaishali shares that it is important to understand if you have oily, dry, sensitive, or combination skin as every skin type reacts differently to treatments. “Ask whether the procedure is customized for your concerns (e.g., pigmentation, acne, ageing),” says the Aesthetic Physician.

2. What Is The Right Age To Start Anti-Aging Treatments?

“Preventive anti-ageing treatments can start in the mid to late 20s (like hydrating facials & antioxidants). More advanced treatments like microneedling RF, PRP, Radio-frequency, Ultrasound treatment, Botox, or skin boosters may be considered after 30, depending on skin needs,” reveals Dr Vaishali.

3. Which Skincare Ingredients Should I Use Or Avoid Before And After Treatment?

The doctor shared that ingredients (like Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, kojic acid or exfoliants) must be stopped 3- 5 days before the procedures. However, you should continue using a mild cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen before the planned treatment.

4. What Aftercare Is Required To Maintain Results?

“Broad spectrum Sunscreen with higher SPF 50+, moisturizers, and specific skincare routine as recommended by your doctor may be needed post-procedure,” says the Aesthetic Physician.

5. Will My Skincare Routine Need To Change After The Treatment?

Dr Vaishali revealed that post-treatment skin may need gentler products(which means that it does not have any strong actives like alpha arbutin, vitamin-c, kojic acid, niacinamide, AHAs, BHAs or any form of retinol). “So, ask for customized skincare guidance,” she further adds.
