This Delicious Scent Is Baishali’s Go-To Date Night Perfume
I still remember the first-ever perfume I owned. It was a gift from my sister who was living in the US at the time. The packaging was pretty and girlie — the box was light pink and the shapely bottle, clear with light pink accents. And the scent…ahh! It was love at first sniff. One of those fragrances that stayed with me for years to come, and is still one of my all-time favourites.
Yep, it’s Pleasures by Estée Lauder.
Sure, over the years, the packaging has changed (the bottle is now completely clear), evolved even, but happily, the delightful floral essence of the perfume has remained intact.
What I love about this particular fragrance is that it’s light and airy, not at all overpowering, and yet stays on all day long — like the linger of a first kiss.
The notes of lillies, peonies, jasmine, karo-karounde blossoms (a fragrant botanical plant), and pink peppercorn (which balances out the floral scents with a tinge of spice) come together like a perfumer’s dream.
Perfect for day wear, I prefer to save my Estée Lauder Pleasures bottle for special date nights or for ones when I know I’ll be cosying up with bae (even if it’s a cuddle sesh + Netflix binge at home).
Since the time I became obsessed with perfumes, I have grown to love a number of others, but this one, for some reason I can’t quite pin-point, has stayed close to my heart. Perhaps, much like your first love, you never forget your first fragrance?
