I Tried A Lip Scrub And Mask For My Dry, Chapped Lips And It Worked!

Raise your hand if you have tried to peel off the skin on your lips not because it needed to be peeled off, but as a force of habit. It’s something you do when you’re bored. Or while watching Netflix. There’s more to play around with during winter because I have really dry lips and my skin is peeling off quite dramatically. Obviously, I am trying not to take the skin off my face entirely so I rely heavily on lip balms during these times. Eventually, I realised that for me dry lips are an everyday problem and it’s not seasonal. I am assuming that most people can actually relate to this problem ‘cause it’s real. In fact, my colleague Akanksha has a lip balm she applies after every hour so I imagine this is a universal issue.

I have my skincare routine in place but I have realised that a mere lip balm won’t do it for me and I need a lip care routine. That’s when I came across lip scrubs and I desperately wanted to give it a try. I even thought of DIY-ing it but my laziness got the better of me. I went online and looked for lip scrubs and the one that caught my eye was from Enn’s Closet. And because I convinced myself that a lip care routine was the only way forward,  I also bought their lip mask. Once, I placed the order I stood in front of my gate to receive the package. Okay, I exaggerated but you get what I mean?

Even the package arrived smelling delicious. And the products smelled like dessert, sooo good. *chefs kiss* I almost mistook it for dessert and ate it *side-eyes everyone reading this*. The scrub and the mask come in small tubs with a lid, which, yes, opens it up to chances of contamination but I can’t imagine how else a scrub would be packaged. After admiring the packaging, I took a generous amount of lip scrub and scrubbed it all over my lips. I looked like Edward Cullen but worse and scarier. The granules definitely didn’t hurt my lips. In fact, the granules practically meltdown so they gently scrub my lips without being too harsh. Some of it went into my mouth and had a sweet taste to it so I know what it finally tastes like. This is not important but chances are, most of us are going to get some in the mouth.

I scrubbed them for about a minute or two before wiping off the excess. I’ll be honest, it takes a lot of time to take off the product off the lips. In fact, the liquid in the product even stains the lips a bit which looks like a lip tint and something I don’t mind but I thought was worth a mention. But the scrubbing did burn my lips a little, more like a sting. I imagine it was my lips getting plumped.

I then moved onto the lip mask which was so soothing and also smelled and tasted delicious! The texture of the mask was very smooth. It comes with a scoop that helps you take out just the amount you need to apply on your lips and ensure that you’re not sticking your fingers in the pot. I took a decent amount of the mask and applied it over my lips and started spreading it across. Let me tell you that it was the most satisfying thing that I did. My lips felt so soft and smooth that I decided to dip my finger back into the product and apply it again, sanitisation be damned. Yeah, I kind of go overboard with things.

My final thoughts about these products are that THEY WORK LIKE MAGIC. In conjunction, the products worked to make my lips soft and supple and even kissable but the only things I kissed that day were my cats. I even applied lipstick and it practically glided on and I screamed in excitement. Hey, I told you I tend to go overboard.

You really have to give this one a try if you are looking out for a lip care routine!
