The one thing that pretty much every girl owns is nail polish. Whether you’re obsessed with nude shades or love a pop of colour, it’s the sort of beauty essential we all love to play around with. But sometimes, either your favourite polish is too expensive or always sold out (we’re looking at you, Chanel Rouge Noir!), or you’re looking for a particular shade and you just can’t find it anywhere. That’s when you DIY it, girl!
Although you cannot make nail polish from scratch like lip balm or blush, you can make one if you have a specific colour in mind. All you need is some clear polish and your favourite coloured eyeshadow.
Ingredients:
- Clear nail polish
- Old eyeshadow
- Toothpick
- Small container
Directions:
- Scrape the eyeshadow and break it down into a fine powder. Make sure there are no lumps.
- Very carefully mix the powder with the nail polish like the video above.
- Stir it with a toothpick, so that it mixes well.
- If you want a darker shade, put in more powder. Keep adding more colour until you have the shade you want.
This DIY is perfect for those who cannot find the colour they really want. You can also mix 2-3 different shadows and see what the result will be. Once your nail polish is ready, apply it and have fun doing some cool nail art on it.
