Everything You Need To Know About The Ear Makeup Trend

Ear makeup? I know, it sounds weird. But, like fashion, makeup, too, is all about pushing the envelope and going where no one has gone before. Sometimes that means covering your ears in cool, foil-like paint to create art that’s somewhere between jewellery and makeup.

We first saw this absurd but eye-catching trend back in 2014, during Paris Fashion Week on the Anthony Vaccarello runway. These looks were made of graphic liner.

In 2016, makeup goddess, Pat McGrath put together the metallic ear look for Louis Vuitton and Opening Ceremony celebrated the ear makeup trend down the runway too. Proenza Schouler was another brand to follow the trend during fashion week.

The ear makeup trend has finally threatened to go mainstream: makeup artist, Violette, created two innovative ear looks for the CR Fashion Book, last month.

Since this has become a full-fledged trend, beauty bloggers and makeup artists have kept this style trending by recreating the look.

The best part about ear makeup is that there are no rules and you can turn it into an actual arts and crafts project. So, get yourself some body paint and get painting!
