In an interview with Galatta India, Mala shared how Kartik always had a thirst for experimentation. One day, he spotted the flammable sign on the deodorant and decided to test if it really worked. So, he asked Kritika to hold a candle while he sprayed the deodorant through it. Unfortunately, the spray didn’t just make a cool fire effect it actually set Kritika’s hair on fire!
Thankfully, they were quick to put out the flames, but Kartik’s mom wasn’t too happy. Kartik admitted that he didn’t mean to hurt his sister, and it was just an accident. But, the big question is: What do you do in this situation? What if your hair gets burnt, either by an accident or while styling it with heated tools? Here’s a simple guide to help you handle burnt hair.
How To Deal With Burnt Hair
Stay Calm and Put the Fire Out: If your hair catches fire, stay calm and act quickly. Douse the flames by either pouring water on your hair or rolling on the ground to put it out. If your hair has been singed by a flat iron or curling iron, check how much damage has been done. If it’s just a small section, don’t panic.
Trim the Burnt Hair: If your hair has been badly burnt, it might be best to cut off the affected part. The burnt hair can become brittle, so trimming it is the best way to prevent more breakage. A professional stylist can also help you with this.
Deep Condition Your Hair: Burnt hair is usually dry and weak, so treat it to some TLC with a deep conditioning treatment. Use a hair mask with nourishing ingredients like coconut oil or argan oil to bring back some moisture and softness.
Avoid Heat Styling: After a hair burn, it’s important to stay away from heat styling tools like straighteners or blow dryers. These can make the damage worse. Let your hair air dry or use the blow dryer on the lowest heat setting if you really need to.
Use a Leave-In Conditioner: A leave-in conditioner is a great way to keep your hair smooth and protected.
