Deepika’s Goth Chic Look Is Beyond Fabulous
If we had to describe Deepika Padukone’s beauty look at the recent GQ Men Of The Year Awards in one word, it would have to be FIERCE. While the world chooses to talk about Aditi Rao Hydari and her remarkably similar gown (both were dressed by Gaurav Gupta), Deepika clearly wins this round thanks to her dramatic make-up courtesy Vogue Make-up Artist of the Year Daniel Bauer.
The right make-up can enhance your face and draw attention away from what you want to disguise, and in the process transform you into a double-take-inducing goddess. And Deepika’s goth chic beauty look definitely has that effect on us.
The black smokey eye is highlighted with a good dose of shimmer around the outer corner of her lids and a heavy ring of kohl. The filled-to-precision, bold brows complement the strong eyes as does the nude lip. Bauer has created some balance here with the no-contouring-only-strobing technique. It lends a soft look to her face despite the heavy eyes. I only wish the harsh line of kohl on her lower lids had been smudged a little for a softer effect. Her sleek, dark hair parted in the middle adds the right finishing touch.
