Deepika Padukone‘s hair in Cocktail convinced me that it was time to bid my flat iron goodbye. Till that point, my wavy locks had been subjected to intense agony, as I was frying them into submission so that they stuck to my head lifelessly (seriously though: how was that a flattering look on anybody?). So when I saw DP’s beautifully wavy hair billowing away in all its glory on the big screen, I decided then and there to embrace my natural texture and work on enhancing it instead. Naturally, Deepika is my go-to #hairspiration icon, so when I saw this picture of her in a Shehla Khan pantsuit during a promotional appearance for Tamasha, her crowning glory was FOMO-inducing all over again. That, followed by strong brows and fall-appropriate bordeaux lips and I was having a total fan-girl moment.

Hair like that is a shining example of the perfect blow-dry. To cop the look, you need to create some lift around the crown by spritzing a volumising spray like John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow Dry Lotion to the roots before blow-drying them. Trying to get oversized out-curls like Deepika could possibly lead to fractured wrists, but you could definitely use a hair curler to achieve those lovely curled ends.
For bold brows, use a spoolie to brush your brows in place and fill them in with brow pencil or gel. Finish with a swipe of clear mascara to keep them in place. I also like how she has downplayed her eyes by keeping them bare and just using black mascara. I wonder if she’s wearing Chanel Rouge Noir on her lips and nails?
